Homemade Almond Milk
I’m not a big fan of cows milk these days. I was a daily drinker as a kid with my sugary cereal in the mornings. Who knew that caused a lot of problems for me? I’ve discovered through time that it truly affected my body and made me break out. I have had so many clients and friends, who have gotten rid of dairy from their diet and their skin cleared up amongst other benefits that varies between each person.
A lovely substitute to cows milk is almond milk. I like making my own almond milk because I find that some brands in the store still have some added ingredients like sugar. And I always find homemade taste best!!
It’s always important when you can to try to buy organic nuts as toxins are stored in fats.
Ingredients:
1 cup of almonds
4 cups filtered water
2 tbsp agave nectar
1 tbsp vanilla
1 tbsp coconut oil
pinch of sea salt
Equipment:
Blender
Nut Milk Bag or Strainer
Directions:
1. Soak the almonds overnight for 12 hours and rinse thoroughly.
2. Blend the nuts and water in blender.
3. Strain out the pulp with the nut milk bag or strainer.
4. Mix in the agave, vanilla, coconut oil and sea salt.
5. Drink or Store in a Glass Jar in the Fridge. It can keep for about 6-8 days in the fridge.
